Everything on this site about therapy, treatment approaches, and what to expect in working with me comes from my own clinical training and 25+ years of practice — not generic content created for a therapy website. Here’s how it actually gets made.
I Create and Review Every Clinical Page Myself
I’m Dr. Alan Jacobson, Psy.D., MBA — a licensed clinical psychologist practicing across Massachusetts, California, New Hampshire, and New York, with PSYPACT telehealth authority in 44 states. You can read my full background on my bio page and see how I structure treatment on my approach page. Pages with a “Clinically Reviewed By” note show when I last reviewed that specific page.
What the Content Is Based On
What I create reflects how I actually practice — the modalities I use (including EMDR and Polyvagal Theory–informed approaches), APA guidelines, and the clinical literature I draw on for a given presenting concern. When I describe what therapy for a specific issue looks like, it’s describing my actual approach, not a generic summary.
Where AI Tools Fit In
I sometimes use AI tools to help draft or organize pages, but the clinical content — what a treatment approach involves, what to expect, how I think about a presenting concern — is mine. I review everything before it’s published.
Keeping This Current
I revisit clinical pages periodically, and any time something changes in my licensure, practice offerings, or the guidelines I follow. You’ll see a “last reviewed” date on pages that have gone through this process.
Something Look Off?
If you notice anything inaccurate or outdated, I’d like to know — reach out via my contact page. For the network-wide version of this policy, see Foresight Psychological Institute’s editorial standards.
