Group Therapy
Open | VirtualGroup therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small number of people who share a challenge or barrier meet together to discuss and work through their struggles and emotions. I am there to offer the same strategies we would pursue in individual therapy, using techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness methods, and humanistic treatment. In group counseling you also learn from each other.
Virtual Group therapy is an effective treatment option for a wide range of mental health concerns. It can be used alongside individual therapy or by itself.
About Virtual Group Therapy
I choose to do this form of treatment because this support can be powerful and effective as you learn how many others you share your challenges with, pool your strength, and share what has worked. Everyone lifts each other up and provides deeper support and understanding than almost any other form of treatment.
Virtual group therapy offers even greater confidentiality and privacy than in-person, but it’s important for everyone to participate as much as they are comfortable.
The only requirements for teletherapy are that you have your camera on, you stay for the entire time, and as much as possible you go to every group counseling session until you’ve reached your goals.
About Open Concept Group Therapy
I offer group therapy services with an open concept, meaning you can join for as long as you want and at any time. This prevents the need to wait until a new cycle starts, end group counseling before you are ready, or stay in even after your challenges are resolved. This page goes over the basics, and then more information about my specific offerings can be found on other pages.
Benefits of Group Therapy
Interpersonal Learning
This form of therapy provides opportunities for individuals to explore their interpersonal patterns and dynamics within a safe and supportive environment. Members can receive feedback from others and learn how their behaviors impact others.
Hearing others share similar struggles can help individuals feel less alone and normalize their experiences, which is a hallmark of group counseling. You’ll also share what has worked, and what has not, giving members shortcuts to improvement and relief!
This form of treatment allows individuals to interact with others experiencing similar challenges. This group counseling dynamic can provide support, validation, and different perspectives on the discussed issues. You’ll truly feel heard and understood.
Group therapy sessions may focus on teaching specific skills, such as communication techniques, stress management strategies, or coping skills. I use methods that are designed to provide measurable, meaningful, and obvious positive results.
